Peter Svenzon (SE)

Peter is educated at Balettakademien in Gothenburg and has since 1987 worked internationally as a dancer/choreographer with MBT Dansteater/Marie Brolin-Tani, as a dancer/assisting choreographer for Björn Elisson Kompani, as a dancer/choreographer for The Göteborg Opera, Älvsborgsteatern’s dance ensemble as well as Helsingborg’s Stadsteater. Peter has also created choreography for theatre- and musical productions at Folkteatern in Gothenburg “Staden och stjärnorna”, “Processen” (based on Kafkas novel) The Göteborg Opera, Helsingborgs Stadsteater, Sweden (a modern version of 18th century ballet “Coppelia”) and Borås Stadsteater, Sweden

In 1998, Peter initiated Art of Spectra and is since then the group’s artistic director. 18 creations have been produced since the start and the latest production, the duet “MONO X 2”, premiered at The Göteborg Opera during The Göteborg Dans & Teater Festival 2008. The group also created several residencies with municipalities and theatres, like “Playground” in Alingsås, Sweden, during the fall of 2007.

In his work, Peter continuously explores limits and borders crossing art forms. In 2009 he is choreographing for The Göteborg Opera. Both in Balletmaster Johannes Öhman’s examination project for young dancers, and in a musical play based on the life of Charlie Chaplin, by Leo Cullborg with music by Charlie Chaplin.
